Rebecca is trekking the Sahara for St Christopher's

Help me reach my goal of £4,000

Trekking across ancient dried up river beds, sand dunes and vast sun-baked plains...

In November 2026, I'm venturing into the heart of the Sahara on an unforgettable trek across golden dunes and diverse desert terrain. The trip includes two full days and two half days of trekking in intense heat and camping under the stars each night. 

It will be a difficult but incredible challenge all for a good cause. 

Why I'm supporting St Christopher's

St Christopher’s Hospice exists to promote and provide skilled and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality.

Their vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to appropriate care and support, when they need it, wherever they need it and whoever they are.

They rely on the generosity of their community, through fundraising campaigns like this, to continue providing our specialist palliative care and familiy care services free of charge.

Getting my bits and pieces together now…notice the essentials..peanut M&Ms which hopefully won’t melt! Got to cram in some serious walking now…still haven’t done a 20k back to back! 😳

Ok folks, this is really happening!
Training has taken a big blow…2 week all inclusive cruise helped to store up energy reserves but no long walking done…and then 2 weeks in bed with pneumonia!
So yesterday was my first trek in 5 weeks and first one on the sand. Amazing weather and so lovely to meet some of the fellow trekkers. Managed 10k up and down the beach and dunes. But pressure is really on now.
So please support me. It’s going to be a real challenge…hot during the day, freezing at night, no running water (lots of wipes!) and all for an amazing cause. And every penny I raise goes to St Christopher’s. ❤️

Training starts for real now post holiday and 142 days to go 😳. This heatwave has helped to practice in heat but still yet to train on sand. Please sponsor me as I’d love to raise as much as I can especially as St Christopher’s were so supportive of my lovely friend Karen’s Dad Denis during his final weeks ❤️

No turning back now - I have signed up for this amazing adventure for a totally amazing cause.
Anyone living in my local area will be aware of the fantastic work of St Christopher's hospice and will have some connection either through friends and family who have worked there, received their loving and compassionate care or fundraised for them.
EVERY PENNY I RAISE goes to St Christopher's so PLEASE support me!
It's going to be hot, sandy, sweaty (no shower or running water) and I'm praying that my hip/knee will be in full working order BUT it is going to be awesome too....sleeping under the stars, sharing food around an open fire and being in one of the most wonderous landscapes in the world.

SO please DIG DEEP - I'll be starting my training soon (not quite the same conditions this time of year but may be heading to the beaches) and will be keeping you all updated of developments as they arise!
