The Spinnaker Spinners is cycling Palace to Palace for St Christopher's

4 Days. 283 Miles. Over 50 Cyclists.

One Extraordinary Cause. 

Taking on the challenge of cycling from Crystal Palace to the Palace of Versailles on 10th -14th September 2025, all in support of our local hospice. 

We're Rosemary, Will and Andrea; we're cycling from London to Paris for St Christopher's Hospice

As a team based locally, we have seen the incredible work that St Christopher's does first-hand, and cannot emphasize enough the incredible difference it makes to families, friends, and loved-ones at such a critical time.

St Christopher’s Hospice exists to promote and provide skilled and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality. 

Their vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to appropriate care and support, when they need it, wherever they need it and whoever they are.

They rely on the generosity of their community, through fundraising campaigns like this, to continue providing our specialist palliative care and familiy care services free of charge.

The money we are raising is going directly to St Christopher's - we are covering the costs of the long cycle ride separately.

On the cusp of the ride...

Sunday 7th Sep
Here we are, the weekend before the ride, feeling excited and nervous. 
It's been a very hectic August, fitting every training ride we could between busy summer commitments. We didn't get in quite as many as we had hoped, but we've found ourselves doing the familiar hills quicker and easier, so at least some physical progress has been made!
Today has been spent making every reasonable preparation we can, organising ourselves for the week ahead, hoping our bikes, legs, and determination don't fail us in the coming trial. And also looking forward to rolling with a great team through beautiful northern France - all for a great cause.

Pushing training up a (painful) notch!

Monday 16th Jun
Will's heart-rate tracker died half way, so there's no data on how EXHAUSTING this was. Around half the per-day distance of the real cycle, so some way to go before we're remotely ready for this September! (also lots of chaffing and broken waterbottle holders and pushing up hills...). Still smiling though :)
