Why I'm supporting St Christopher's
St Christopher’s Hospice exists to promote and provide skilled and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality.
Their vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to appropriate care and support, when they need it, wherever they need it and whoever they are.
They rely on the generosity of their community, through fundraising campaigns like this, to continue providing specialist palliative care and family care services free of charge.
St Christopher’s hospice offer world class palliative and end of life care to those living in South London. In addition to their hospice and outreach/overseas training and teaching programmes, they provide community support to over 7500 people. My wonderful mum and dad were two of those people they supported, and I will be eternally grateful to them for the care and support they gave Mum, Dad, Claire and I.
It felt only right to give something back to this amazing organisation and help raise some much-needed funds. What better way than to challenge myself and do something truly out of my comfort zone! This will certainly be that - with a requirement for high level fitness, a rigorous preparation training regime, travelling with strangers, not to mention the lack of washing & toilet facilities and the scorpions! Nevertheless, I’m excited to embark on this challenge and looking forward to having some time to quietly reflect and remember my amazing mum and dad on my way.
Thank you for your support.
