Fun Walk 2026

Tell everyone why your walking...

The 4th May 2026 marks one year since my husband Ed passed away. On 10th May me, my son Eachann, parents and some friends will be doing the St Christopher's Hospice Fun Walk.

It is a moment for us to "tread for Ed" and offer thanks to the organisation that took such phenomenal care of him (and us) in the last stages of his life.

In England, on average, only 40% of the care provided by hospices is funded by the NHS. The rest is funded by charitable donations.

The Fun Walk is St Christopher's biggest fundraising event of the year.

We'd be grateful for any sponsorship, which will help St Christophers continue to provide expert end of life care to people like Ed.

Thank you.

I lived on the same corridor as Ed at Sheffield and without him lending me textbooks before I pulled yet another all nighter on an assignment I genuinely wouldn’t have got my degree. I have fond memories of him in a Kappa Spurs shirt, drinking endless cups of tea out of an enormous Sports Direct mug and discussing the happenings of what lectures I’d missed. Many a good night spent doing various pub quizzes and attending indie club nights. A truly wonderful man and one I owe a lot to. I wish you luck with the walk and sending you love and strength for the anniversary of his passing. Coops
