For an amazing cause

Fun Walk is St Christopher's biggest fundraising event of the year. This year, we will be walking 8 miles.

In May 2023 my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Throughout the 13 following months, she and we, as a family were supported by St Christophers hospice.

From gathering for family lunches at the hospice when my mum was there for treat days to have her nails painted or mini massages, to home visits, to supporting me liase with the GP when needed, the staff at St Christophers were always just a phone call away.

They provided care and dignity as well as smiles, warmth and hugs when needed.

My mum's wish was to pass away at home with as little intervention as possible, and this she was able to do, surrounded by her loved ones.

I started walking for St Christophers in 2024, a month before losing my mum, and this year I'm joined by my daughters Laura (who walked with me last year), and Amy, and Laura's boyfriend Joel.
